Nanaimo—Cowichan – Proposed Boundaries

(Population: 110,413)

Consisting of:

  • (a) those parts of the Cowichan Valley Regional District comprised of:
    • (i) the Town of Lake Cowichan;
    • (ii) subdivisions F, H and I;
    • (iii) that part of the Town of Ladysmith lying northerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the southwesterly limit of said town with Holland Creek; thence northerly and easterly along said creek and its projection to the easterly limit of said town in Stuart Channel;
    • (iv) those parts of Subdivision G lying westerly of the Town of Ladysmith and that part of said subdivision lying easterly of Stuart Channel, including Valdes Island, Pylades Island, Ruxton Island and excepting Dayman Island, Scott Island, Hudson Island, Kuper Island, Reid Island, Tent Island and Thetis Island; and
  • (b) those parts of the Regional District of Nanaimo comprised of:
    • (i) subdivisions A and B;
    • (ii) that part of the City of Nanaimo lying easterly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the westerly limit of said city with the Nanaimo Parkway (southwesterly of Long Lake); thence generally northwesterly along said parkway to the westerly limit of said city at the intersection with Island Highway North;
    • (iii) that part of Subdivision C lying easterly and northerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the southerly limit of said subdivision with the westerly limit of the Land District of Douglas; thence northerly along the limit of said land district and the Land District of Mountain to the northerly limit of said land district; thence easterly along said limit to the westerly limit of the City of Nanaimo.
