Notice of Cancellation of Public Hearings

WINNIPEG, Thursday, October 11, 2012 — Due to the very small number of requests to appear (one for each sitting), the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Manitoba has cancelled the public hearings that were scheduled to take place in Brandon, Dauphin and Thompson on October 18 and 19, 2012.

Individuals who had given notice of their intention to make a representation at these venues have been advised and will share their views with the commission via teleconference.

The Manitoba Commission is holding public hearings to gather opinions on its proposal for the new federal electoral map that was released on August 9, 2012.

To obtain a copy of the commission's proposal or for more information about the public hearings, visit www.federal-redistribution.ca or call 1-855-747-7226.
